Diary entry No. 126

Happy New Year everyone! I’ve had so many emails and PM’s via the member’s forum that I just haven’t been able to find the time to reply to everyone’s messages, so I thought it best for me to say it here to one and all instead! Moving on, the build up to Christmas was totally crazy what with all the filming and editing that was going on, and since both Lucas and Shayne left the office for their Christmas holidays it’s just been little old me manning the fort!

Yep, you may not believe it but I have spent every day (including Christmas Day) working…. either filming, editing, doing admin, end of month bills or customer support… and I only managed to take one night off during the whole festive period for my birthday! But hey, I’m not really complaining - I’ve worked over the Holidays for the last 18 years so it’s water off a duck’s back now. Well, almost… this year (2010) Lucas or Shayne can work Christmas / New Year and I’ll head off on my hols instead!

But on a serious note, I do appreciate that many of you have had a harder time than me this Christmas. For those of you that spent it working in Hotels, Bars or Restaurants, whether in the Kitchens or Front-of-House, or for those that worked the streets with the homeless and the needy, and of course not forgetting all of you who worked for the Emergency Services and Hospitals all over the world, well, may you also enjoy some peaceful and quality time off from the mayhem of our modern world with your loved ones very soon.

So what’s coming up in January? Well, next Sunday see’s a truly passionate 35 minute epic where you would honestly think the guys had been lovers for all their lives! The action was so intense I simply couldn’t edit it down in to a shorter film because it would have lost too much of its “heat” so make sure you don’t miss it! We’ve also got the hunky straight fella to the right for you this Thursday so there’s something for everyone as usual :-) And as for the rest of January, well, it should be “newbie” month with each Sunday release seeing some of our latest solo guys going at it in a duo or 3-way flick ;-)

Christmas fun, 14/12/08

Diary entry No. 125

Man, what a crazy week! 4 straight guys and 4 gay guys paid us a visit and the coming week is looking equally as busy! With just 10 days left before the Christmas holiday period begins I don’t think the team and I are going to get a day off… but hey, we’ve been spoilt with all those hot bodies and raging boners so I think the trade-off is fair ;-)

Happily, our Christmas line-up of films is looking truly awesome. Thursday sees the totally cute and horny guy to the right, next Sunday you finally get to watch Matt B, Nathan B & RJ going at it in a three way fuck / double fuck scene that’s sure to melt your hard drive, and then on Christmas Day Jesse returns in a dildo making film with Robbie… who gets a little adventurous with his “curious” playmate! Well, we couldn’t just give you a solo, could we?

Not only that but one of our lucky members is going to win those one-off dildos of Jesse’s AND Robbie’s cock! They’ve been sitting on my desk for a few weeks and man, are they lovely… almost too good to let go :-) Beyond that we have a ton of different films in the can featuring some of your favourite resident stars and newbies alike. All in all the New Year is going to be terrific fun around here so make sure you remember to pay us a visit ;-)

That time of the year again, 07/12/08

Diary entry No. 124

First off, my apologies for the switch round in film updates this week. Sometimes life throws you a googly and in our case in meant you got Sunday’s update on Thursday and Thursday’s update today. No harm done I guess… and at least today you got 2 films instead of one! Why? Well, if you’re a member just watch Deano’s bonus film to find out ;-)

Meanwhile, as we rush head-first in to the festive season I have come down with a stinking, flu-like cold which is getting steadily worse by the hour. Some friends and I went out on the boat yesterday to capture some glorious December sun and I don’t think the chilly air did anything to help stave the infection off! Hey ho, that’ll be me coughing, sneezing and grumbling for the next 2 weeks…

Of course, the timing couldn’t be worse. We’ve got 8 film shoots booked in for the week ahead (mostly newbies!) and I was really looking forward to manning a camera and meeting the guys now that I’m mobile again. Not that my new motor has arrived yet… will it come before Christmas do you think? Still, I guess I can stay chained to my PC with a box of Lemsips instead and finish up some other work ;-(

I need my freedom back, 23/11/08

Diary entry No. 123

Well, after 6 weeks without a car I finally “nudged” my dealer in to providing me with a free loan car until my new one is delivered. It’s been very odd not having a motor sat outside the front door to use at a whim – life has taken the form of having to plan! Fortunately, my good friend Martin has made sure that I made it to the super-market each week so I could at least feed myself and the dog… but it’s all had an air of “care in the community” about it. I need my independence!

That said, I think the worst thing about it all has been the fact that I haven’t been able to pop over to the studio and meet up with all the hot new models the guys have been filming. I really miss having a chat with the newbies and a good catch-up with the “regulars”… I seem to have become a housebound nutter clawing at the door only to find I can’t go anywhere!

But this week is going to be even worse. While I may finally have a car, I will be stuck doing Jury Service while the likes of Marcus, Nathan B, Jesse, Robbie and many others will be paying us a visit! Yep, Lucas and Shayne have a real busy week ahead of them and fingers crossed, the chemistry and adventures will work out just the way we have hoped ;-)

Change.. and Changes, 10/11/08

Diary entry No. 122

“Change.” “We need Change”… or even “Change we need”… whatever your own political opinion might be, on the face of it all at least something seemed to change this week. The USA voted in Barack Obama as the first black American President… yet at the same time, California, whose Governor is Arnold Schwarzenegger voted to accept Proposition 8 which banned same sex marriage and tore away a whole raft of human rights for gay American men and women. There is a certain irony there…

While the world can and should celebrate the imminent end of the Bush years, we should also recognise that while, finally, race issues can be overcome, sexuality and sexual preference is still open hunting territory for religious fanatics and political bigots around the globe, not least within America. Here in the UK and European Union we now have laws to protect our rights, yet in the “land of the free” human rights seem to still, after so many years, be open to religious and political abuse. So let’s just pray that Obama means change and will fight for that change in all areas that are worthy, right?

Meanwhile, back here at home I am preparing myself for Jury Service! Yep, I have been summoned to do my duty and providing I am not rejected (I am an adult webmaster after-all!) I will have to spend hours, days and possibly weeks listening to evidence and coming to a decision about an alleged crime. Shit. I hate making decisions… I really hope they decide to excuse me. But hey, here’s a thought - I wonder if mentioning that I am a “gay” adult webmaster will make a difference ;-)

An unfortunate event, 02/11/08

Diary entry No. 121

Just like most people, I hate Monday mornings! The peace and quiet of my home get’s shattered as soon as Lucas and Shayne arrive and the dog begins to go nuts for his morning walk. But this Monday was worse than usual. As I staggered to my PC in my dressing gown with noise and turmoil abound, I noticed my internet connection was down. So I pressed the power button on my router and all of its little green lights went in to meltdown. An hour later it was pronounced well and truly dead.

Panic and hysteria soon set in. Lucas just sat at his desk sobbing while Shayne was running around like a mad thing saying “how can it just die?” and “it’s so unfair… it wasn’t even that old… still just a baby…!” I knew right then that I had to make a decision fast, but the trouble was I had only drank 1 cup of Earl Grey and I don’t begin to function unless I have had at least 2. I quietly asked Shayne to make me another cup, knowing that it would at least distract him from going in to total panic.

As I surveyed the office, Lucas was still sat there, staring at his little internet explorer thingy going round and round, not able to see anything. It was a site of total bewilderment… he just couldn’t quite believe the world had disappeared. As I drank my second cup of tea my senses began to recover – such is the cure-all of Earl Grey. Finally, I felt able to make a decision. We needed to buy a new router. It was obvious really, but Monday mornings can play havoc with your judgement.

I despatched Shayne off to PC World (yes it was that much of an emergency!) while Lucas continued to stare helplessly at his laptop. 40 minutes later Shayne rushed in with a shiny box and gleefully handed it to me, excitedly saying “it’s the very best they had, Adam, the very best! Did I do good?”

“Yes Shayne, you did real good” I replied with a gentle smile, “but I need another cup of tea if I’m going to figure out how to set this up!” And then the dread of remembering my account info set in… could I rescue the situation and reconnect us to the world? Thankfully, that third cup of tea triggered my memory in to action and we were soon online and back in business! And while we were all clearly traumatised by the event it’s good to know that in a crisis, the team came together. Let’s just hope tomorrow is a brighter day… :-)

People, life and the Top 50, 26/10/08

Diary entry No. 120

Well, I am absolutely gob-smacked! As I was walking the dog home from the park this afternoon I passed a guy carrying a load of Christmas presents. They were all neatly wrapped up and after my initial shock, I assumed he was dropping them off at a relative’s house as he wouldn’t be around before Christmas Day. Fair enough, I thought. On I strolled and as I turned in to my street I passed a house with a Christmas tree all dressed up with sparkling lights in its bay window! It’s October!!! What is wrong with some people?

Anyway, on a more sensible note I met up with some old and dear friends who I used to work with in my call centre days last night. We had a great meal and our waitress was fantastic – nothing was too much trouble even though the seven of us were pretty raucous. It makes such a difference to get that warm, human interaction and so I made sure I left a nice hefty tip! She sure was smiling as we walked out the door :-)

OK, on a different topic I met up with Mr Blake last week and as usual, we got to talking about the site. He commented on the member’s top 50, asking if I had anything to do with how many new films are going straight in to the top 10! I knew exactly where he was coming from and I assured him that I don’t actually vote myself – the results are totally down to the members and I can’t change them! The only influence I have is on the choice of models, the filming and the editing so I guess we’re doing something right ;-)

Meanwhile, Lucas had been lusting over the guy to the right for ages and this week he managed to film him! He’s straight, cute and very well hung… what a lovely combination...

Catching up, 19/10/08

Diary entry No. 119

It’s been a bit of an odd week really. First, we had a completely empty film schedule for a change and so the guys spent most of the week catching up on the editing. While that’s great, it means I haven’t had a moment to myself and by Friday I was in desperate need of some peace and quiet! But then on Friday evening my cherished Mini moved on to a new home and now I am house-bound until my new car arrives in a couple of weeks. So if there’s a murder in Plymouth you’ll know where to send the Police ;-)

Mind you, I did get out of the house a few times this week. I had my “end-of-year” meeting with my accountant to sign off the company accounts and while he was delighted with the success of BLAKEMASON, he also handed me a huge tax bill! It really is quite staggering just how much we have to pay to the government – VAT, corporation tax, employers NI… but what really surprised me was he recommended I move my business to Poland  where there in zero corporation tax! Now, Polish guys are hot… right?

The other meeting I had this week was with our web development team. There are a few minor tweaks and changes I’ve meaning to get done for ages so that’s now scheduled in their diaries.

Oh yes, and finally, this Tuesday will see a bonus update! When we first began filming in HD we had a few “technical” problems so we decided not to release those films. But I spent a day editing one of them - Adam & Zak – and put a link up in the member’s forum to get some feedback. Well they seemed to love it, so it will go on general release on Tuesday as a bonus. Am I good to you or what?

Dreaming of the Carribean, 12/10/08

Diary entry No. 118

Well, this diary update is so over-due that I feel it necessary to hang my head in total shame. I intended to take an extended summer break this year, only we didn’t get a summer here in the UK. Every day I looked out the window and all I saw was cloud, rain or the wind blowing like it wanted to take my roof away. Only in the past few weeks has it settled down, but temperatures outdoors are now on the chilly willy side! So, my aim to have an exceptional summer in the sun and heat never materialised... but hey, there’s always next year!

Meanwhile, it would seem that the worldwide economy has followed the British summer in to a total cool-down. The TV and Press media, in my opinion (not to mention certain greedy traders) have wrecked all confidence in our markets and financial institutions. Now, I am not a rich man (I’m not even wealthy – I don’t own my own house and I don’t have a pension plan) but it seems we have been talked in to a recession and global doom. And if we let them get away with it that’s where we will be... all without a job!

So let me explain what I’ve been doing about this “doom and gloom” economic situation. I have been spending and investing in this site. While I appreciate many people are having a hard time right now, if we all stop spending our money then the economies of the world will only get worse and more of us will suffer. So please, if you can, shove a very firm two fingers up at the media and let’s get on with our lives, and enjoying our lives. After all, I’d hate to see you sit at home twiddling your thumbs rather than enjoying yourselves… hell, if things get so bad that you can’t afford some quality entertainment then what’s the point in living, eh?

Anyway, on a more interesting note, I have a rather strange request to make. We have a really horny shoot planned but we want it to be focused on a real-life couple. We want the guys to be between the ages of 22 and 28, they have to be good looking and in good shape (obviously) and in return we’ll give the lucky couple enough cash to disappear on a Caribbean holiday together. Taking stock, 15/06/08

Diary entry No. 117

Well, it’s been a pretty tough time around here of late. Lucas has been off on holiday, leaving me to do everything so I haven’t had much free time to write here. Then several models decided not to turn up for shoots which sent the release schedule out the window, and then everything kicked off in the member’s forum too! Talk about a major headache ;-)

So, having tried to get through the last 4 weeks as best I could, I thought I’d spend a few minutes this Sunday evening writing a diary update that I know is well overdue. So let’s begin with porn. It’s actually a very personal thing as to what people like to watch. There’s no magic formula – one person will like it hard and rough, the other gentle, caring and passionate. I have always tried to provide variety here, and as we approach our 300th film release that still holds true to this day.

Did I say 300? Indeed, Thursday will see another milestone fly by and to think, we’ve hit this with less than 3 years live on the web. I guess what I’m trying to say is not every film will appeal to everyone, but I bet at least 50% do appeal to you as an individual! Even when a new release hits number 1 people write that it’s not to their own taste on the forum… but hey, a wise man once said “you can please some of the people some of the time… but not all of the people all of the time.”

Meanwhile, I do what we Brits do best. Aside from making some of the best adult entertainment available anywhere in the world, I turn that stiff upper lip and get on with the job at hand regardless. It may not always be easy, but as someone else very wisely said, “don’t let the bastards grind you down.” No doubt many of you reading this know just how I feel… the real world isn’t always an easy place to live in. But at least here, people can express themselves freely… others in this world are much less fortunate. And that truly is something we should all complain about…

Being adventurous, 20/04/08

Diary entry No. 116

I received an email this week that made me feel really angry. It was all about models who shave or trim their body hair, but went on to blame producers and film-makers for insisting that models should look that way! Well, I had to reply with a slightly terse email… whether a guy trims and shaves is down to him and not me. I encourage the more natural look… just look at the changes you’ve seen in Nathan B, Tristan, Jack and RJ to name a few! Grrrrrr…!!!

On a lighter note I went out for dinner with a couple of friends on Thursday evening. After eating we went on to a bar where we first met two lovely ladies named Sarah. I think they were a little shocked to meet a porn producer in Plymouth, and after a few drinks they had to leave as they were meeting other friends elsewhere.

During our first encounter with the two Sarah’s, another couple had walked in and sat down opposite us. I couldn’t take my eyes off the guy… he was super fit and it was clear he was on a first date with an attractive young lady. They were evidently very in to each other, but neither was making a “move” so off I went and introduced myself!

Needless to say he was a Captain in the Royal Marines and I have to admit that I fell in love all over again (it’s an occupational hazard). But they were both great fun and we drank and chatted until the bar closed several hours later. Moral of the story? Never be afraid to go and talk to a handsome guy in a bar… he got a card too ;-)

Finally, just to round up this update, I got summoned for Jury service this week. While I know it’s my duty etc, if I get stuck on a two week trial (or worse) then the filming and editing schedule is going to be a nightmare! Oh well.

I hate technology, 13/04/08

Diary entry No. 115

Well, I guess what with so much going on recently I forgot to tell you about some improvements that we’ve made (other than the site re-design!). Number 1, we now have multiple servers in both the USA and Europe, so any film download requests will now be routed to a server closest to you. The result? The fastest possible downloads / streams - how’s that for commitment to quality, eh?

Not only that, but I’ve finally taken the plunge and ordered 3 new High Definition cameras. There’s been so much hype about HD but often there’s so little substance… I mean, you can buy an HD camera for £300 but the picture quality can be way worse than standard definition! So me being me, I could have bought a new car for the same amount I’ve just spent on the cameras, but then you expect the best from us ;-)

Anyway, I’ve been playing around shooting some HD film and editing it on the PC. Thank god I bought the mother of all PC’s last year… it handles the workflow just like SD. But I am having one problem… exporting a 20 minute film is taking 8 hours! It used to be 25 minutes and no matter how I play with the settings, I either have to wait 8 hours or I get a film without picture! Now I know why I put it off for so long… but I will crack it sooner or later.

So, on the filming front, well, we’ve been so busy that I’ve had to employ a new part-time film editor so that we can keep you entertained with the good stuff! And just think, when we start releasing HD films the file sizes are going to be bigger too… but hey, that’s not the only thing we deliver in XL size… did you catch Neil’s solo? What a guy… my constant night-time dreams of him are still causing my laundry bills to rise ;-)

Amazing men, too little time, 06/04/08

Diary entry No. 114

How is it that time just seems to fly by faster and faster these days? It’s been 4 weeks since my last diary entry and so much has happened that I can’t quite remember what I should be sharing with you. Mmmm, well first off, here’s the animated film I promised a while back to help us promote the new look site. There are 2 versions – this one leaves it to your imagination… and this one doesn’t! The story is real… thanks to a friend for sharing it with the world ;-)

I’ve also spent a week over in the USA recently, attending an adult webmasters convention in Phoenix. Unlike last time I went, the temperatures were much more reasonable and I had a really great time meeting with other people from this business. I was pretty tired by the time the whole thing was over… I don’t function too well on just 4 hours sleep a night! But hey, thanks Daniel ;-)

So while I was away working 20 hours a day (!!!) Lucas carried on finding and filming several hot guys… eyes to the right! To be fair though, I had given Lucas a real hard time to make sure this fella got on the train while I was away, and I had the absolute pleasure of editing it together this afternoon. Oh man… I haven’t been this sore since, well, never you mind!

But I guess last night had something to do with that too. I went over to a friends place for a barbeque and was somewhat surprised at just how many people were there! Mingling as you do, being introduced as the man who owns BLAKEMASON is always a bit of a talking point to say the very least. OK, so I now have to concede that may be I do have one of the best jobs in the world, but I did get talking to this very fit straight guy who had also heard of the site...
