Diary entry No. 11

Life can be trying at times. Very trying indeed. One of our cameras developed a fault yesterday while we were making two films, although it only became apparent today as I began logging the tapes in to my PC.

Now I could swear and rant on, but I won’t. I just thought I’d share a little of my pain with you! At least it’s still under guarantee…

Anyway, this week’s update features Justin, a really nice guy who travelled down from Brighton just for us. He’s done some picture modelling work before but this is his first experience in the world of solo films.

While we were chatting he told me some scary stories of bad practice within the industry, from pre-shoot drug taking to people stopping cheques and reneging on agreed modelling fees after the shoot. Now, I'm not saying all sites are bad... but just be carefull... that's all...

However, it has made me even more determined to make BLAKEMASON.COM the place for amateur british men to come and feature in a relaxed and respectful environment. And guys, don’t do it for £120 – we pay much better rates and always in cash. And we offer you a copy of the contract – you don’t have to ask or demand one.

Diary entry No. 10

First off, I have released the teaser film! You can find it on the subscribe page. The medium res version is around 10mb and the low res version is around 4mb. Thanks to all of you who sent me an email - I hope you like it ;-)

Unfortunately, due to family and work commitments I just haven’t been able to find the time to provide you with a new film update this week. However, I have managed to log all of the new films in to my PC and if you look to your right, there are two pics to show you what’s in store!

August is going to be a tough month for filming and updates. Blake is heading off on holiday for two weeks and I will be taking a break at some point too. But I will try my hardest to deliver a weekly update on our progress.

And finally, we will be launching the site to subscribers sometime during the last two weeks of September! We’re getting real close now…

Diary entry No. 9

This has been a particularly busy week for Blake and I. Since last Sunday we have made 4 (yes, four) films, the first of which is this week’s update, Shaun. A strapping 6ft 3, I think he has the longest thighs that I’ve ever seen!

And as for the other films, well, you’ll just have to wait and see…

Anyway, no one sent me an email requesting to see the preview film this week so I’m not going to post it :-( Sorry Andy (our web developer who spent time getting the streaming / coding sorted) but if people don’t ask, I ain’t going to give it away. You guys don’t want to see what this is all about? Weird!

Diary entry No. 8

People have often accused me of being a perfectionist. I’m not sure I totally agree, but I do always try and improve things and not rest until I’m satisfied with the results. You see, I’ve been really disappointed with the look of my thumbnails in the member’s area of the site. It’s been driving me mad and although I purchased some pretty good (and somewhat expensive!) software, the images looked blocky and horrible.

So what I have spent this week doing? Well, after I finished editing this week’s very hot update – Jason – I found a great piece of free software that creates really clear thumbnails. And you guessed it, I spent 10 hours re-processing the images for the member’s area!

Oh yeah, and I also found some time yesterday to put together a teaser film… which I might release next week if enough of you ask nicely ;-)

I spent yesterday in front of my PC doing a financial reconciliation for Thor Media Limited. Yawn. Yes, I know the sun was shining, but having been working on BLAKEMASON.COM for a while now, I was interested to see where we were compared to our original forecasts. And boy, have we overspent!

But then I remembered back to conversations from a year ago, when friends said “create a budget and then treble it, ‘cause that’s what you’ll end up spending.” How true they were.

So how am I feeling today? Well, life is about taking risks every now and then, and I’m still 100% confident that this one is worth it. Why? Because I get to work with some of the best guys around and every event is a challenge. Not to mention the fact that our films are bloody good!

Well, this past week sure has been hectic. With another two solo films in the can, we’re looking to make a few more hardcore productions real soon. Question is, who do you want to see together and what would you like to see them doing? Contact us and let me know – I’ll try my best to organise the most popular requests!

Anyway, as the days go past my regular job grows duller by the minute but then the site is definitely getting more interesting. Time is getting pretty scarce to fit everything in but rest assured, I’ll be back each Sunday with another update. This week I’m pleased to introduce Josh, a very nice guy with a cock to make your day!

First off, our web developer has been working long hours for you this week polishing the member’s area and search functionality. This will be available so you can search for your favourite model, attribute or film type! You can even combine these results to find exactly what you are looking for – e.g. the fittest guys with the longest cocks in the hardest films!

Diary entry No.4

I decided to take last weekend off and visit some friends in Cornwall. It was one of those crazy “reunion” events where we drank till 5 in the morning and spent the next day feeling somewhat worse for wear, before hitting the bars again in the evening! I had taken a couple of our films to show as a “test screening” and when I offered to give a sneak preview, the guys were well up for it.
 
Now this was a real nervous moment for me. We hadn’t shown any of our films to anyone at that point and one of my friends who was present used to work in TV. Without telling you which films they watched, their comments were incredibly enthusiastic and they all got very “excited”. Knowing that we were creating what we had set out to achieve, I relaxed and hit the gin!

On the Saturday night we headed to Truro and went to a nightclub called Eclipse. It has a really fun atmosphere and attracts a very mixed crowd of straight and gay people. Armed with business cards, my friends and I approached a few very hot guys – some (but not all) of whom were extremely rude when asked if they would consider doing adult modelling. Now, if you ever get approached but it’s not your thing, don’t get weird, just smile and politely say “no thanks, it’s not my bag”! We’re not in to the hard sell or to disrupt your evening – we only ever hand out cards and ask people to apply online if they’re interested. So chill and be flattered!
 
Anyway, while I was having fun in Cornwall, Blake was back in Plymouth working hard. He decided to do some film editing and to speak with some of the new applicants about arranging shoots. I arrived home exhausted in the early evening last Sunday and was somewhat surprised to find I had three shoots organised for the week ahead! God knows where I get my energy from :)

So, this week our update features Kristian, a very sweet and open guy from London. He's sure to win your hearts and pants!

Diary entry No. 3

What a week - Sunday’s just come around too quickly these days! We’re really proud to introduce Alex in this week’s update, a true straight bloke through and through! (I know – his girlfriend was very persuasive and helped him agree to working with us!)

Hopefully we can persuade him to come back and do another feature, although I don’t think my wallet is big enough to convince him to try anything with another guy. Still, I’ve started saving ;-)

There are modelling enquiries flooding in now, but rest assured we will only work with the sexiest men we can find! Next week we’re working with 3 new guys – so be sure to catch my update again on Sunday!

Diary entry No. 2

After some 'gentle persuasion', a couple of our existing models finally agreed to hook up together and give us a good demonstration of hot cock sucking and power fucking!

As these two went at it, Blake and I had a hard time keeping our minds on our work!

After the shoot, both the guys were so exhausted, we needed to feed them before sending them on their way with a big wad of cash in their pockets!

There are a couple more new solo shoots lined up for this week, and we're planning on creating a streaming sample film for you very soon.

Let’s rewind to summer ’04.

Another frantic Wednesday at each of our offices; phones, emails, meetings and conference calls. It’s 28 degrees outside with a cloudless sky and not a breath of wind. I call Blake.

“Let’s take the boat out for a couple of hours. I’m going nuts in this place!”

“OK, I’ll bring some beers! I need to get off this rock called England too!”

Thirty minutes later, after a full speed charge across the bay we dropped anchor. There we were, gently rocking with the tide at our favourite cove, sipping beer and enjoying the last few hours of sunshine. It’s only seven in the evening and we are both exhausted from the first three days of the week.

“We need to change our lives!” was the memorable feeling.

Then, and I honestly forget exactly who asked the question, “Is there anything stopping us from getting into the gay porn business?”

“Uhm……”

For the rest of the summer many of those crazy days were rounded off by a similar scene. Sometimes there were one or two friends on board looking to help or give advice.

“Is it legal? Ask the police! Find a Lawyer!” - tick
“We need a company!” – tick
“We need an accountant!” - tick
“We need a bank account!” – tick
“We need web consultancy services!” – tick
“We need some investors!” – tick
“We need a World Class database designer!” – tick
“We need a site name!” – eventually – tick!
“I really should tell my mother!” – tick
“We need some cameras!” – tick
“Lights would be handy too” – tick
“What ISP are we going to use?” – tick
“We are gonna need a whole lotta models!” – standby
“We need…..” the list turned out to be endless!

…and here we are, almost a year later, with our own website and an ever growing portfolio of hot guys and great films! I have to say it’s been 100 times tougher then we thought it could ever possibly be, but we’re nearly there now! Huge thanks to everyone who’s supported this project to date, more thanks to all of you who decide to join us in the future, and a firm two fingers to those who tried to stand in our way!!!

Right now the site is going to take a little more time to finish before we can go live, so check back here for our weekly progress report each Sunday evening. As we build our library for you, we’ll include a couple of stills of our guys not available anywhere else on the site. And for all of you begging to know when we’re going live, we won’t take a penny from anyone until we have at least 24 films to share with you!
